Meade County Local is a community platform for the people of Meade County, Kentucky. These guidelines exist to keep MCL a welcoming, useful, and safe space for everyone.

Be Respectful

Treat others the way you'd treat your neighbor
Disagree without being disagreeable
No personal attacks, name-calling, or harassment
Respect differing opinions — this is a community of diverse people

Keep It Local

MCL is for Meade County topics and interests
Off-topic content may be recategorized or removed
National political arguments that aren't locally relevant belong elsewhere

No Harmful Content

No threats, doxxing, or incitement of violence
No hate speech targeting race, religion, gender, orientation, or disability
No sexually explicit content
No content that exploits or endangers minors

Be Honest

Don't impersonate others or create fake accounts
Don't spread deliberate misinformation
Clearly label opinions as opinions
For Sale listings must be accurate and honest

No Spam

No repeated posting of the same content
No unauthorized commercial promotion
Local businesses may post in appropriate categories

Respect Privacy

Don't share others' personal information without consent
Don't post photos of people (especially children) without permission
Don't share private conversations publicly

Enforcement

Violations may result in:

Content removal — the post or comment is taken down
Warning — a notice from moderators
Temporary mute — inability to post for a set period
Account suspension — temporary or permanent ban
