Meade County Local ("MCL") respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.

Filing a Takedown Notice

If you believe that content on MCL infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice. Your notice must include:

1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent.
2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
3. Identification of the material to be removed, with sufficient information to locate it (URLs).
4. Your contact information (name, address, phone, email).
5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

Counter-Notification

If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification. Your counter-notice must include:

1. Your physical or electronic signature.
2. Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
4. Your name, address, and phone number.
5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or the Western District of Kentucky if outside the US), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original takedown notice.

Process Timeline

• Upon receiving a valid takedown notice, we will expeditiously remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material.
• We will notify the user who posted the content (if identifiable).
• If a valid counter-notice is received, we will forward it to the original complainant and restore the content within 10-14 business days unless the complainant files a court action.

Repeat Infringers

MCL will terminate accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers in appropriate circumstances.

Good Faith & Misrepresentation

Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed by mistake, may be subject to liability for damages.
