History
Dedicated as "Ramsey Field" on June 1, 1966, in honor of Egbert Ramsey — a longtime Little League supervisor who managed the Red Sox team for several years and served as Vice President of the league. Ramsey moved to Brandenburg from Custer in the 1950s and worked as a supervisor at the Olin Mathieson Chemical Plant. The Meade County Board of Education owned the land from 1929 to 1999. When the board placed it for sale in 1999, Ray Cottrell purchased the park at auction and leased it to the Meade County Fiscal Court for 25 years at $1 per year — keeping it in community hands.
