Names follow the Algonquin tradition adopted in colonial American almanacs. When a 13th full moon falls in a calendar year (about every 2.7 years), the extra one is called a “Blue Moon.”

Phase instants are computed here and agree with the US Naval Observatory to within a minute. The Moon’s position is within 0.01° of NASA JPL Horizons, and moonrise and moonset for Brandenburg are within about fifteen seconds of USNO. The age shown is time since the actual new moon, not an average lunation.

Phase instants carry the zone they are written in, and the same moment in the other zone is printed underneath — a full moon a little after midnight UTC falls on the previous day here, so the two dates disagreeing is the arithmetic working, not a fault. The 60-day strip above is deliberately left in Meade County calendar days, because a day in the strip is a day you walk outside in rather than an instant.
